At Wisdomly, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to provide our service:
- App Data: Your saved quotes, favorites, bookmarks, reflections, and collections are stored locally on your device using SwiftData
- Camera Access: Only used when you choose to scan a book page for OCR text extraction. Images are processed locally and not stored or transmitted
- Purchase History: Handled entirely by Apple StoreKit. We do not collect or store payment information
How We Use Your Information
- To display and manage your personal quote library
- To provide OCR functionality for scanning book pages
- To enable the home screen widget to display your pinned quotes
Data Storage & Security
Local-First: All your data (favorites, reflections, collections) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not maintain servers or databases containing your content.
iCloud: If you have iCloud enabled, your data may be synced through Apple's iCloud service. This is governed by Apple's privacy policies.
Camera and OCR
The camera is only accessed when you explicitly choose to "Scan a quote." Photos you take are:
- Processed immediately on-device using Apple's Vision framework
- Not stored permanently (temporary only during OCR processing)
- Never transmitted to our servers or third parties
Third-Party Services
We use Apple's built-in services only:
- StoreKit for in-app purchases and subscriptions
- SwiftData for local data persistence
- Vision framework for on-device OCR
We do not integrate with analytics services, advertising networks, or external APIs.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your Rights
You can:
- Delete any of your saved data within the App
- Uninstall the App to remove all local data
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
